Ottawa man charged with Child Pornography offences

(Ottawa) — Today, the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (OPS-ICE) charged an Ottawa man following an investigation of Child Pornography.
On November 25, 2015, the OPS High Risk Offender Management (HROM) Unit received information that a registered sex offender was in possession of child pornography; stored on an iPod.
A subsequent search warrant was obtained for the electronic device and was forensically examined, revealing 76 images of prepubescent child pornography.
Geoffrey BELL, 25 years old, of Ottawa, has been charged with:
- 3 x Possession of Child Pornography, contrary to s. 163.1(4) of the CCC
- 1 x Accessing Child Pornography, contrary to s. 163.1(4.1) of the CCC
- 1 x Breach of Probation Order, contrary to s. 733.1(1) of the CCC
He is scheduled to appear at court for a bail hearing on Saturday, February 6, 2016.
