Ottawa Police now accepting applications for the 11th annual OPS Gala

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, April 5, 2022  11:25 am 

(Ottawa) — After a two-year hiatus, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its annual Gala on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Shaw Centre.

We are seeking applications from local organizations that provide invaluable services to those most in need in Ottawa. You must be:

• A registered charity; and
• Provide services to residents of the city of Ottawa.

“Every year, local charities are selected as beneficiaries of the Gala fundraising. The charities are picked because of shared values with the Ottawa Police Service, a willingness to pitch in and help, as well as having an established network within the community to help with the fundraising efforts,” said Inspector Jim Elves.

We invite those who qualify to fill out the application form at ottawapolice.ca/OPSGala before 4 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, and let us know about the important work you are doing in the city.

The Gala provides OPS with a chance to strengthen ties within the community by sponsoring charities that are focused on improving the well-being of Ottawa’s vulnerable residents.

Since its inception, the Gala has raised just under $1 Million dollars for charities like: Big Brothers, Big Sisters; the Boys and Girls Club, Ottawa Food Bank, the Distress Centre, Youville, and other worthy organizations.
