Persons of interest to identify in York Street homicide

(Ottawa) – The Homicide Unit is seeking public assistance to identify two persons of interest in the shooting on York Street that left a 20-year-old male dead and another one injured.

Update: Homicide Investigation: York Street

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit has identified the victim of a homicide on York Street Sunday night as 20-year-old L Ndongozi Nkuzimana.

A second man was also shot and injured. 

Police were called after shots were heard at about 11:54 pm. Officers arrived and found Mr. Nkuzimana also known as Tyson Loris, of Ottawa, who was later declared deceased.

An 18 year old man (age corrected July 8th), of Ottawa was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital. He is now in stable condition.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this homicide.

They are also asking the community who reside and/or work in the area bounded by Rideau Street, Coburg Street, Murray Street and Nelson Street to check their home surveillance equipment and/or their dashboard cameras for any suspicious activity between 11 pm and 1 am.

Homicide Investigation: York Street

The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting death of a man in the 300 block of York Street on Sunday night. A second man was also shot.

Police were called to the scene at 11:54pm Sunday and found both men injured. Both were taken to hospital where one succumbed to his injuries.

Police are seeking suspects who fled the area.
