Police are seeking public’s help to identify sexual assault suspect
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 28, 2022 4:15 pm
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who physically and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy on September 20 in Manor Park.
The incident occurred sometime between 7:30 pm and 9 pm on Hemlock Road west of St. Laurent Blvd. The victim was walking when an unknown man approached him. He said something that didn’t make sense to the victim before touching him in a sexual manner. When the boy resisted, the suspect pushed him to the ground. After a brief struggle, the victim managed to free himself and flee the area.
The suspect is described as a black male, late teens, with a prominent overbite. He was wearing a red jacket, green hat, blue shoes, and a white and black striped T-shirt. (see photo)
Investigators think there could be other victims. If you have information about the suspect, or you experienced a similar assault, please contact the SACA Unit at 613-236-1222 ext 5944.
If you see someone matching the description of the suspect in the area of Manor Park, do not approach him, call 911.
