Police release photo of vehicle involved in serious hit-and-run collision on Sussex Drive
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, June 9, 2022 1:30 pm
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit investigators are releasing a photo of the vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run collision on Sussex Drive on May 31st.
The photo was pulled from a city traffic camera and the vehicle is described as a 4-door black Hyundai Elantra (see photo).
In viewing the video, investigators believe the vehicle sustained damages to the hood and windshield. The damage will not be minor scratches, it will be significant, consistent with a person being struck. It is likely the hood was dented and spiderweb cracks to the windshield resulted from the impact. The vehicle owner may have brought the car in for repairs.
Anyone with information about this vehicle is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service
Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2481.
Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.
