Police seek witnesses to serious assault in the downtown core on March 20

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Central Investigations Unit is investigating an Aggravated assault that occurred March 20, 2022 at about 1 am at the intersection of Elgin Street and MacLaren Street.

Two men approached a man in his 50’s and a verbal altercation turned physical. When Frontline officers attended the scene, the man had sustained serious head injuries. He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators are seeking witnesses to this incident.
