Police seeking witnesses to a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on Hazeldean Road

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit Investigators are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred on December 15^th, 2021. 

At approximately 5:30pm, Frontline patrol officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Hazeldean Road approximately 460 metres East of Castlefrank Road. 

The pedestrian, a 81 year old man from Ottawa, was crossing Hazeldean Road northbound when he was struck by a 2008 brown Honda Civic that was travelling eastbound on Hazeldean Road.  He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed, assisted emergency responders, or may have dashcam footage of this incident that have not yet spoken to police.
