Police seeking witnesses to a fatal collision on King Edward Avenue
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, October 18, 2022 3:14 pm
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Collision Unit Investigators are seeking witnesses to a serious collision that occurred this morning at the intersection of King Edward Avenue and Somerset Street East.
At approximately 5:40 am, Frontline patrol officers responded to a collision involving two pedestrians and a vehicle, a Mazda3. One of the pedestrians, a woman in her 20s, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and she succumbed to her injuries. The second pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.
Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and have not yet spoken to police.
