Robbery Suspect identified and charged

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has identified and charged a man in relation to four separate commercial robberies.
Shayne STAPLES-CAVANAGH, 26, of Ottawa, has been charged with several offences relating to the robberies.
He is to appear in court today.

Robbery Suspect to Identify
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, November 10, 2022 3:10 pm
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating three separate robberies involving the same suspect. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
The incidents occurred at a business in the 1000 block of Merivale Road on October 30, November 6, and November 8, 2022. Each time, the suspect entered the location partially covering his face with a hooded sweater and made a demand for cigarettes, cash and lottery tickets. In one incident, he brandished a knife. He fled on foot with the stolen items.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30 – 35 years old, shoulder length brown hair and a receding hairline, 6 feet, (183 cm) large build, some facial hair, possibly a goatee. He was wearing a black zip-up hooded sweater (with the hood up) and with an unidentified logo on the left side, black jogging pants, white socks, and black shoes (see photos).
