Suspect to identify in Old Ottawa South bank robbery
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, January 11, 2023 11:15 am
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is looking to identify a suspect involved in a bank robbery on January 5th in the 1100 block of Bank Street.
At approximately 1:30 pm, a lone suspect entered a bank and approached the bank teller. The suspect proceeded to bang the counter, told staff not to move, and demanded money.
The suspect fled the bank on foot heading east before obtaining any money.
No one was injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, 6’2”-6’4” (188-193 cm), slim build, and blue eyes. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark-coloured rain jacket with a red circle logo on the right top side of the jacket, black pants, black shoes, black gloves, and a black ski mask.
