Sexual Assault in the Manor Park area, police seeking witnesses
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, January 14, 2022 3:00pm
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section is investigating a sexual assault that occurred on Hemlock Road on January 13th, 2022.
At approximately 6:40pm, the woman was walking alone when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. The man continued to walk with the victim a short distance before pushing her to the ground and sexually assaulting her. The female was able to scream during the struggle and the suspect fled the area.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 30-40 years old, 6’0” (183cm), slim to medium build, with a small but long face. He was described as wearing a black mid-thigh length winter jacket and black pants and he spoke English with no accent.
SACA Investigators believe there were witnesses in the area at the time of the incident, and they may be able to provide further information.

SACA Investigators will respect a victim’s wish to pursue or not pursue an investigation. Regardless, the reporting of incidents of violence against women to police is key in identifying suspects and determining crime trends.
