Sexual assault on Montreal Road - Police seeking witnesses to locate vehicle and suspect, vehicle photos released

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit is releasing vehicle photos to get public assistance in identifying the suspect of a sexual assault that occurred on February 19.
The victim got into the suspect’s vehicle in the 200 block of Montreal Road and was driven to a parking lot about a kilometre away. She was forcibly confined in the vehicle, strangled, and sexually assaulted.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 200lbs (91kg) with a stocky build and a red-brown beard. He wore a wedding ring and had a tattoo on the side of one hand.
The suspect’s vehicle is similar to a white BMW with aftermarket parts. Child seats were located in the rear, the windows were tinted and the passenger side mirror may be damaged.
“Even if you don’t have information about the incident, you may recognize this vehicle or the suspect description,” says SACA investigator, Detective Monique Paquette. She would also like to speak to any witnesses in the area at the time of the incident.

“We believe there could be other victims and we encourage anyone with information to come forward,” says Detective Paquette. “We will respect a victim’s wish to pursue or not pursue an investigation. Even if you don’t want to make a report, your information could lead to identifying suspects, determining crime trends or getting community support.”

Sex assault suspect to be identified – police seeking witnesses
(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit is investigating a sexual assault that occurred at approximately 2:00am on Saturday, February 19th in the 200 block of Montreal Road.
The victim, a sex trade worker, was approached by the suspect in a vehicle. The victim entered his vehicle and was driven to a parking lot. She was forcibly confined in the vehicle, strangled, and sexually assaulted.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 200lbs (91kg) with a stocky build and a red-brown beard. He wore a wedding ring and had a tattoo on the side of one hand.
He was operating a white car, similar to a BMW, with child seats in the rear, tinted windows and a damaged passenger side mirror.
Investigators believe there may be other victims or witnesses who can provide further information to this investigation.
