Background
This consultation process will continue until the end of July and includes multiple information and data points including online surveys, polling, direct consultation with specific groups and increased efforts to specifically reach Indigenous, racialized and marginalized groups.
Members of the OPSB and the OPS Command Team will also be meeting in one-on-one sessions with City Councillors and community stakeholders, to listen and learn about what is important to the people who work and live in their Wards and neighbourhoods.
The OPSB and OPS will also review information collected during public information sessions within the City’s CSWB program, which addresses local risks to safety and well-being at the community level in six key areas:
- simplifying and integrating systems;
- strategies to address discrimination, marginalization and racism;
- financial security and poverty reduction;
- housing;
- mental well-being; and
- gender-based violence and violence against women.
Consultation results are expected to be presented at a Special Meeting of the Board in August.
If you have questions about the survey or the consultation process, please email info@ottawapolice.ca.
