Suspect in violent assault at a local mall to identify
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, August 22, 2023 2:40 pm
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect involved in a violent unprovoked assault on March 18, 2023.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., the suspect male approached the victim at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre and initiated a physical altercation. The victim was struck in the face several times leaving him with serious injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.
The suspect is described as a fair-skinned man with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket down to his upper thighs, black pants, and dark coloured shoes with white laces.
He has a tattoo on the left side of his neck with what appeared to be a wing with unknown text around the wing. He was carrying a bag, slung over the right side of his body with a small dog within (see photo).
