Suspect to identify following a robbery on Gibford Drive
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, April 3, 2024 2:40 pm
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the robbery of a vehicle on April 1st in the 2900 block of Gibford Drive.
At approximately 9:00 am, the suspect approached the victim as they were exiting their vehicle in a commercial parking lot. The suspect then assaulted him and stole his vehicle, fleeing the area east bound towards Uplands Drive.
The victim sustained minor physical injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male, early 20’s, approximately 6”0’ (183 cm) tall, with a thin build. During the incident he was seen wearing black jacket, black pants, running shoes, a black baseball cap and a black medical mask.
Anyone with information as to the identity of this individual or related to this incident, that has cell phone footage, or any other video of the incident who has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
