Suspect to identify following an assault on Richmond Road
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, June 1, 2021 4:43pm
(Ottawa) — The West Criminal Investigations Section is looking for the public’s assistance to identify an individual involved in an unprovoked assault on two women with a knife this afternoon.
At approximately 12:20pm, a Frontline patrol officer responded to a call in the 800 block of Richmond Road about an attack at 12noon. The responding officer located two victims. One woman was unharmed and a second woman suffered non serious injuries.
A foot pursuit ensued and the suspect evaded police and headed towards the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 40s and thin build. He has a scruffy beard, short blond hair and he was dressed in black.
The West Criminal Investigation Section is seeking public information and believes that witnesses may have cellphone or dash cam video of the incident or the suspect.
