Suspect to identify following an assault on Somerset Street West
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, November 21, 2024 1:35 pm
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigation Section is seeking the public assistance to identify a suspect responsible for an assault on Somerset Street West near Preston Street on November 2nd.
At approximately 8:45 am, the victim was standing at the intersection when the suspect approached and without provocation assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled the area on foot westbound on Somerset Street towards the community centre.
The victim sustained minor physical injuries.
The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6’2” (188 cm), with a slim build, bald, and a black goatee. He was seen wearing a black track suit with white stripes and white running shoes. At the time of the incident the suspect was walking his dog. The dog is described as a white medium sized dog with black spots, wearing a blue winter jacket.
