Update: Information and photos suspect vehicle in Somerset St. West assault

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigative Section is providing additional information and images for the suspect’s vehicle from the assault that occurred in the 700 block of Somerset Street West on May 3rd.
The suspect is believed to have been driving a newer model, 2023 or 2024 Ford Escape, likely with an ST trim level.
The suspect is described as an Asian male, approximately 40-year-old, 5’10” (178 cm), with a stocky build and short black hair. During the incident he was seen wearing a grey sweater, dark blue pants and sunglasses.
It is also believed that the suspect may use a steering wheel club to secure his parked vehicle.
Anyone with information as to the identity of this suspect, dash camera video, or surveillance footage of this incident is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigative Section at 613-236-1222 extension 5166.

Suspect to identify in assault on Somerset Street West
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigative Section is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault that occurred in the 700 block of Somerset Street West on May 3rd.
At approximately 11:35 am, the suspect and victim had an interaction in which the suspect became aggressive and assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled Westbound on Somerset Street West in a new model, white SUV.
The victim sustained serious injuries.
The suspect is described as an Asian male, approximately 40-year-old, 5’10” (178 cm), with a stocky build and short black hair. During the incident he was seen wearing a grey sweater, dark blue pants and sunglasses.
