Suspect to identify in Centretown Pharmacy Robberies
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, August 23, 2021 1:20pm
(Ottawa)—The Robbery Unit is looking for public assistance to identify a man involved in two pharmacy Robberies in the Centretown area on August 21st, 2021.
At approximately 10:00am, a lone man entered a pharmacy in the 700 block of Gladstone Avenue.
At approximately 11:40am, the same man entered a pharmacy in the 700 block of Somerset Street West.
In both robberies, the suspect threatened the pharmacy clerk with a knife, demanding medication.
The suspect then fled the area on foot with an undisclosed quantity of medication.
No one was injured in these incidents.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 20’s, between 5’8” (173cm) and 6’0” (183cm), slim build, and long straight dark hair that also hangs across the face. He was wearing a light-coloured long sleeve grey hoodie, dark blue jeans, black shoes, a medical mask on his face, and carried a black computer case over his shoulder (see photos).
