Suspect to identify in Kanata business theft

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigation Section is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect responsible for a theft in the 1100 block of Terry Fox Drive on May 10th.
At approximately 2:15 pm, the suspect entered the store through a back door, he entered the back office and attempted to access the business’ safe. When he was unsuccessful, he waited for staff to be distracted by customers and stole a cash box from behind the counter. He then exited the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 40’s to early 50’s, average build, with short salt and pepper hair. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a black sweatshirt with grey sleeves and “Nike Air” written down the back and Nike logo on the front top left side, black jeans, and black shoes. He is also seen with black sunglasses on the top of his head.
