Suspect to identify in Merivale Rd. robbery
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, February 21, 2025 11:45 a.m.
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery in the 1400 block of Merivale Road on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
At approximately 11:30 pm, a lone man entered a business and approached the counter. The suspect passed a note to the employee working the cash register demanding several products. He then refused to pay for the items, brandishing a knife and exiting the business with the products.
There were no reported physical injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male with a slim build in his 30s. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark blue puffy jacket, white shirt, black tuque, and blue medical mask. The suspect also had a goatee.
