Suspect to identify in multiple assaults with a weapon, police seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Unit is seeking the public’s help to identify a man involved in a series of assaults with a weapon in the Downtown core.
Police has investigated reports that an Ottawa man in his fifties has been assaulted on numerous occasions since March 2021, possibly by the same suspect. All reported assaults have occurred in the Downtown and ByWard Market areas. In some instances, the victim was assaulted with an aerosol chemical agent.
The suspect is described as Caucasian man, thin build, approximately 35 to 40 years old, and speaks French fluently (see photos). He has been seen driving an older model grey Chevrolet with Ontario plates.
Investigators have confirmed the exact location and time of two incidents and are seeking witnesses. One occurred on October 3, 2021, at approximately 9:10 am on the Mackenzie King Bridge; the other on May 9, 2022 at approximately 1:30 pm in the 100 block of Albert Street.
