Suspect to identify in Riocan Avenue Commercial Robbery and Assault with a weapon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, April 29, 2020 10:45am
(Ottawa) – Frontline Officers responded to a commercial robbery in the 100 block of Riocan Avenue, on January 4, 2020.
At approximately 10:33pm, a man entered a business and concealed a glass bottle under his coat. Once outside the premises, an employee verbally confronted the man and at that point, the man took the bottle out and struck the employee on the forehead with it. The man then fled the scene on foot. The employee was not seriously injured.
The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man, average build, 5’8” (173cm) with black brush cut hair, moustache and a partial beard. He was wearing a black trench coat over a black shirt, tan pants and black shoes. He had a large gold-coloured choker around his neck and spoke English (see photos).
