Three adults charged with Auto Theft-related offences in the Kanata South area

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Unit charged three men with several auto theft-related offences in relation to an incident on October 25.
At about 4:50 am patrol officers were called to the area of Gowrie Street and Barra Avenue regarding a suspicious incident. A witness observed a man disconnecting a trailer from a vehicle. A short time later a similar vehicle was observed by police travelling westbound on highway 417 and a traffic stop was conducted. The vehicle was confirmed stolen.
Wesley JULIO-HENG, 19-years-old, from the greater Montreal area, was charged with:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Theft over $5000
- Possession of break-in instrument
- Mischief/ obstruct property exceeding $5000
- Fail to comply with release order x3
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
He attended court on October 25, 2022.
Jessy ARSENAULT, 20-years-old, from the greater Montreal area, was charged with:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Theft over $5000
- Possession of break-in instrument
- Mischief/ obstructing property exceeding $5000
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence/ general
- Flight from peace officer
He is scheduled to appear in court on November 29, 2022.
Wilkenson RIMPEL 20-years-old, from the greater Montreal area, was charged with:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Theft over $5000
- Mischief/ obstruct property exceeding $5000
- Obstructing/ resisting a public/ peace officer
He is scheduled to appear in court on November 29, 2022.
The Ottawa Police would like to remind residents to take precaution in order to protect their vehicle. Vehicle thefts happen fast, oftentimes overnight, leaving the owner unaware until hours later.
