Two guns seized by Ottawa Police in two incidents in the past 24 hours

(Ottawa)—Since yesterday, the Ottawa Police Service has seized two guns in separate incidents across Ottawa.
This morning, Frontline patrol officers responded to a shooting on Gaultois Avenue in Orleans to reports of gunshots fired at a residence. A suspect vehicle was located and officers conducted a high risk arrest. A handgun was seized during the arrest. Two people, one men and one woman, are facing multiple firearms charges. No one was injured in the shooting.
On October 3rd, Bikes and Beats officers stopped a vehicle near a known problem address in the Vanier area. During the investigation, officers noticed evidence of drug use contrary to the Cannabis Control Act. A handgun was also found in the vehicle. All three occupants were arrested, two men and one woman, and have been charged by the Guns and Gangs Section with numerous firearms-related offences.
