Two people charged following CDSA warrant execution in Kanata Lakes

(Ottawa) — In January 2024, members of the Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit commenced a criminal investigation regarding individuals suspected of trafficking illicit drugs in the City of Ottawa.
On Thursday, May 10th, with the assistance of the West Neighbourhood Resource Team, Tactical Team, Canine Unit and Street Crime Unit, a search warrant was executed at a home and storage units in the area of Kanata Lakes.
Police seized a loaded semi-automatic handgun, loaded magazine, additional ammunition, a large sum of Canadian Currency, a substantial quantity of illegal substances including: cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cannabis, hashish, dilaudid pills and oxycodone pills.
Eiad ELFAROU, 45-years-old and Stuart COSSEE 31-years-old, both of Ottawa, were charged jointly with several counts of Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) offences, several firearms charges, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of proceeds of crime.
ELFAROU remains in custody and COSSEE will appear in court at a later date.
