Update: Death Investigation on Mayview Ave

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service continues to investigate the death of a 24-year-old man found deceased in a Mayview Ave. home.

The death was initially investigated as a homicide but police now believe the incident is attributed to death by misadventure. The investigation indicates that the manner of death was likely accidentally self-inflicted.

No suspect is being sought.

The investigation remains open and active.

(Ottawa)—Frontline officers attended the 1400 block of Mayview Avenue in response to a call for service about a male found deceased, at approximately 3:38am this morning.  

The male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound, was located in an apartment. He was later pronounced dead on scene. 

The 24 year old man victim has been identified as Sami Abdallah Saleh of Ottawa.
