Shooting investigation: Manotick Station Road
(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a shooting with injuries at a cemetery on Manotick Station Road that occurred today at 2:45 p.m.
Police received multiple 911 calls from the cemetery reporting the gunshots and immediately responded.
At the time of the shooting, a funeral for a victim of a homicide on Tuesday of this week was underway.
Shortly afterwards, one man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. The injuries were non-life-threatening.
Multiple police patrol and investigative units are engaged on this investigation and are actively searching for the suspect.
We ask the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
Police delayed some individuals from leaving the area during the investigation and suspect search. We apologize for this inconvenience.
We are speaking with community members to help individuals understand the approach by the police.
