Wanted Attempt Murder suspect following home invasion - considered armed and dangerous
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, October 17, 2018 4:05pm
(Ottawa)—On October 16, 2018 at approximately 8:30pm, Ottawa Police responded to a home invasion in the 300 block of Lafontaine Avenue.
Two male suspects forced their way into the residence of a 25 year old man, pistol-whipped him, stabbed him numerous times and then stole items from the home. The suspects then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Shortly afterwards, patrol officers near the scene took a 23 year old male into custody.
Samatar SAID-FAHMI, 23 years old, of Ottawa is charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Breaking and Entering
- Robbery Using a Firearm
- Aggravated Assault
- Pointing a firearm x2
- Use Firearm in the commission of an offence
- Possession of a weapon x2
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- Possess firearm while prohibited
- Breach probation
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
The second suspect, Andrew CARTER, 19 years old of Ottawa is outstanding and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Breaking and Entering
- Robbery Using a Firearm
- Aggravated Assault
- Pointing a firearm x2
- Use Firearm in the commission of an offence
- Possession of a weapon x2
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- Fail to comply with conditions of judicial release x4
Andrew CARTER is described as a Caucasian male, 5’8” (173cm), 190lbs (86kg) with a fair complexion and brown hair.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach him. Please dial 911 right away.
