Woman charged in case of Elder Abuse
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, February 26, 2025 2:36 p.m.
(Ottawa) – A woman has been charged in connection with an elder abuse investigation, and police are seeking additional victims or witnesses.
On February 5, 2025, an assault took place at a retirement residence in the Trim Road area. A senior sustained minor injuries.
Charita MUNAR, 65-years-old of Ottawa, who was employed as a personal support worker (PSW), has been charged with:
- Two counts of Assault
- One count of Assault with a Weapon
She will appear in court today.
The Ottawa Police Service continues to encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences elder abuse to come forward. Reporting these incidents is an important step in stopping elder abuse. For more information and resources, please visit ottawapolice.ca.
