Woman wanted following 2020 conviction for Kidnapping and Sexual assault offences
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, May 12, 2021 11:45am
(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit and the OPP East Region Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) are seeking the public’s assistance to locate Sandrine TOMBA-KALEMA who fled Ottawa after being convicted of Sexual Assault, Kidnapping, Forcible Confinement and Breaking and Entering in late 2019.
The charges relate to an incident in 2015 for which three other women were also convicted.
TOMBA-KALEMA fled the area and failed to appear in court for her sentencing in February 2020. A Committal Warrant was issued for her arrest to place her in custody so that she could serve her sentence.
ROPE investigators obtained information that she may have traveled to Texas in the United States, particularly the DeSoto, Dallas or Arlington areas. There is also a possibility that she has now returned to Canada and may be in the Ottawa, Longueuil or Montreal area.
Sandrine TOMBA-KALEMA is described as a 41 year old Black woman, 5’6” (168cm) heavy build, with black hair, brown eyes (see photo).
Anyone with information about the current whereabouts of this person is asked to call the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) at 416-809-5900 or toll-free at 1-866-870-7673.
Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or crimestoppers.ca.
