Youth charged in connection with Place d’Orleans LRT station arsons

(Ottawa) — Today, the Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit charged a 14-year-old male of Ottawa in relation to numerous fires that occurred between November 8 and December 29, 2024, at the new LRT station located at Place d’Orleans. The fires caused approximately $23,000 in damage.
The youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), was charged with:
- Arson Damage to Property x4
- Possess Incendiary Materials x4
They appeared in court today.
