Non-Parent Custody

The Ottawa Police Service no longer offers Form 325 for Non-Parent Custody requests.

Non-Parent Custody requests are now submitted using the Ottawa Police Service fingerprinting service.

This fingerprinting service uses the Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) to conduct a query of the RCMP database for offenders who have been convicted of an offence that is sexual in nature where a Record Suspension has been granted.

Any applicable disclosure is also provided once results have been returned to the Ottawa Police Service by the RCMP.

Fingerprint Fee: $53

Accepted payment methods are Cash, Debit, Certified Cheque, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, or Amex.

Where to apply

You must bring:

• Proof of Ottawa residency (i.e., identification, utility bill)
• Two (2) pieces of valid identification

Although the Ottawa Police Service submits the fingerprints to the RCMP immediately after they have been taken, delays do exist and are out of the Ottawa Police Service's control.

Once the fingerprint results have been received from the RCMP, the Background Clearance Section will notify you that your Non-Parent Custody application has been completed.
